It seemed that just about every month last year another story would appear in the media about an account that IBM lost to Microsoft on the basis of a Notes-Exchange migration with Defence and Qantas being some of the bigger names revealing plans to migrate away from the darling of Email 1.0 over the last few years.

The good Free Compatible with Windows, OS X and Linux 64-bit compatible across platforms Really sexy interface Simple to use Adheres to ODF document standard The bad Memory hungry Limited feature set Doesn't open MS OOXML files Built-in web browser is painfully slow and generally horrible While the interface of IBM's free office suite is sexy, its hunger for system resources and lack of features mean that OpenOffice.org 3 is still the best free office suite. Also, watch out for Symphony's lack of OOXML support. The latest version of Lotus Symphony (version 1.2) came out of beta on 4 November 2008, and in honour of this we thought we would look at the latest release of this historic office program

The good Beautiful, large display Excellent performance Good battery life 3.5mm headphone socket microSD expansion with 8GB card The bad Some instances of lag No free navigation software It's one of the most expensive smartphones available The Touch HD is a fantastic phone, if you can afford one. It out-performs every HTC phone previously and looks fantastic doing it.

The good Includes an HDMI cable Stand adjustments are better than is usually provided for 22-inch The bad Expensive for what it offers Horrible speakers High gloss screen No DVI cable included HP's w2228h is certainly a pretty looking monitor, and includes stand adjustments not often seen elsewhere, but capability wise it's no better than other 22-inch monitors that are AU$200-$300 cheaper. Design and features HP's w2228h comes in a stylish piano black, with a spring-loaded neck that has quite a kick. Enough of a kick to destroy the foam it was packed in the moment it was removed from the box, as there seems to be no way to lock the stand down

The good 22-inch IPS panel Excellent colour and viewing angles Great gaming performance Fantastic price The bad No 1:1 scaling Inset monitor can cause reflections on bezel, and shadow on monitor The 2209WA is a monitor with very few flaws. While we'd love to see 1:1 scaling, and the inset screen may cause some users grief, we wouldn't mind two of these sitting on our desk. This is the best 22-inch monitor we've seen
